Who am I?

My nationality is Dutch. In my youth I regularly went on holiday abroad with my family. It planted the seed for my love for foreign languages (especially the French language) and cultures. During my studies at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht, I enjoyed doing internships in French-speaking areas (Guadeloupe, the French Antilles and Brussels). After my studies I left for France where I worked for 14 years, for example in management support functions of various companies. I also worked in an administrative function for a French newspaper for several years.

Back in the Netherlands, the thorough knowledge of the spoken and written French language (in addition to the English language) appeared very handy. It allowed me for example to work as an executive secretary at a Maastricht company with many French-speaking connections, I worked for the Walloon government as a trade assistant, as a secretary for the NWBC (Dutch-Walloon Business Club) and as a Registrar of Marriages for the Municipality of Maastricht, where it’s still my great pleasure to officiate English- and French-spoken marriages (next to those in my mother tongue)!

Thanks to my work experience I feel at ease in the international business culture. Business cultures are different everywhere. You want to maintain successful business contacts with partners in other countries? Keep this difference in mind!

“As President of the Dutch-Walloon Business Club (NWBC: Nederlands-Waalse Business Club) I have worked with Charlotte for several years. I know Charlotte as very involved and dedicated. She is completely at ease in Francophone culture and language. Charlotte works in depth when she takes it upon herself to plan activities and organize meetings. She makes her network work when needed. Her first objective is always to obtain results.”
